Man who said he’ll visit Trump with carload of guns arrested

A tip-off has led police to the arrest of a man with two guns at President Donald Trump’s International Hotel in Washington.

The suspect, a Pennsylvania physician who according to reports earlier sent a text message about traveling to visit the president with a carload of weapons was in possession of an assault-style rifle and handgun in his car.

According to Metropolitan Police Department Chief Peter Newsham, the police swung into action after it received a tip from the Pennsylvania State Police at about 12:30 a.m claiming the suspect identified as Bryan Moles of Edinboro, Pennsylvania will be at the hotel and was armed.

Reports say Moles, 43, checked into the hotel about 1 a.m as authorities swiftly worked with hotel security to locate him and his car.

“I was very concerned about this circumstance,” Newsham said, “and I believe the officers and our federal partners, and in particular the tipster, averted a potential disaster here in our nation’s capital.”

Moles was taken into custody after his arrest at the downtown hotel, where he was staying as a guest, police said.
