Manchester United have emerged champions of the English FA Cup after beating Manchester City in the final on Saturday.

The Red Devils secured a 2-1 win in a thrilling game at Wembley to secure a place in the Europa League next season.

They join Tottenham in the expanded group phase of the Europa League while Chelsea, who finished sixth in the Premier League, must play a Conference League qualifier in August.

Meanwhile, as a result, Newcastle miss out on European football completely.

Ten Hag went into this Manchester derby final with the growing expectation that he will be sacked by United.

But two first half goals by Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo put them in control of the tie before an 87th-minute effort by substitute Manchester City
Jeremy Doku halved the deficit.

United have now added this year’s FA Cup triumph to last year’s League Cup win under Erik ten Hag.
