The embattled National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Olisa Metuh, breath the air of freedom Thursday evening, as he finally met his varied bail conditions and returned home.

Metuh was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in connection with arms procurement money scandal and kept in custody without charging him to court for almost two weeks. He was however charged to court and ordered to be remanded in prison custody.

Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court Abuja however granted him bail but the PDP spokesman could not meet the bail conditions, prompting his lawyer to apply for variation. The application for variation was granted on Wednesday on only one of the conditions that says his sureties must have landed property in highbrow Maitama District in Abuja.

Justice Abang ordered that the sureties should own property in any part of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
