Metuh to cough out another N300m for bail

Embattled National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Olisa Metuh, has been told by Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Maitama, to cough out another N300 million in order to secure bail.

Justice Ishaq Bello handed down the ruling on Friday in the suit brought against Metuh over his alleged destruction of evidence.

It will be recalled that he had earlier been granted bail in the sum of N400m in a different case of money laundering and criminal breach of trust. He was remanded in prison custody before Justice Bello ordered that he be further remanded in prison on Thursday.

The judge also ordered that the PDP spokesman present two sureties in like sum. He also ordered that residences of the two sureties to be presented by Metuh should be verified by filing of documents in that respect before the court.
