Moses not left out as Giroud inspires Chelsea's comback win at Southampton

Super Eagles forward, Victor Moses came on in the 86th-minute as Chelsea came from 2-0 down to beat struggling Southampton 3-2 in a Premier League encounter at Saint Mary’s on Saturday.

Moses was introduced for Eden Hazard with four minutes left in the game and Chelsea leading 3-2.

The Blues gave their push for a Premier League top four finish a boost as Olivier Giroud, who came on for Alvaro Morata on the hour mark, inspired the vital win.

The home side raced to a 2-0 lead with goals in either half by Dusan Tadic and debutant Jan Bednarek.

But a brace from Giroud in the 70th and 78th minutes sandwiched in a goal from Eden Hazard gave Chelsea all three points.

Chelsea had failed to win their last two league games, but despite the win, they remain fifth on the table with 60 points – seven points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.

Meanwhile, Southampton remain in the drop zone on 28 points.
