Musa begins season with a bang

Super Eagles striker, Ahmed Musa, on Saturday commenced the 2015/2016 season on a good note, scoring the winner for CSKA Moscow in a 1-0 home victory against Rubin Kazan in a Russian league opener.

The game was heading to a goalless draw before the former VV Venlo striker scored the winning goal in the 87th minute of the game to send the home fans into jubilation.

Speaking after the game, Musa expressed his delight in getting the winning goal and also starting the season on a winning note.

“It was a tough game, I am so happy to score the goal,” Musa said.

“It was an important one for us as a team. The goal will definitely increase my confidence to score more goals as the league progresses.”

Musa scored 10 goals last season to lead the Russian Army to second position behind Zenit St Petersburg who won the Russian title last season.
