Navy apprehends 4 Niger Delta crude oil thieves

The Nigerian Navy said it has apprehended four crude oil thieves who illegally refine crude oil into automotive gas oil (AGO) in Niger Delta.

A statement from Naval headquarters signed by Commodore Christian Ezekobe, Director of Information disclosed this, adding that it also destroyed a total of 85 large drums of illegally refined AGO’s by the thieves.

Following this event, the Naval Chief of Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok Ibas, has commended youths of Ataba Community in Akwa Ibom State for providing timely information about the activities of the oil thieves which led to their arrests and destruction of the illegal AGO.
