New Red! Solanke to wear No. 29 at Liverpool

English Premier League side Liverpool have confirmed the signing of Nigerian-born England striker, Dominic Solanke, from Chelsea.

The former Chelsea youth star joins the Reds to officially become their second signing this summer.

Although it has been known for some time that Liverpool would be signing Solanke, he was only confirmed on Monday when his contract at Chelsea expired

“Liverpool Football Club can announce the signing of Dominic Solanke,” said the club’s official website on Monday.

“The 19-year-old, who will take the No.29 shirt, joins the Reds following the expiration of his contract with Chelsea.

“Solanke has put the finishing touches to his switch to Anfield in time to join the early stages of preparations for the 2017-18 campaign.”

Solanke told Liverpoolfc.com: “It feels amazing and everyone has made me feel welcome already.

“Even just pulling on the training top, I was over the moon. Hopefully I can put on the shirt in the near future and make some good history here.”

Solanke scored four goals as England won the FIFA U-20 World Cup this summer.
