Nine year old girl raped to death in Rivers

The Elele Community in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State was all gloomy on Saturday morning, following the discovery of the lifeless body of a nine year old girl, who was raped to death by yet to be identified persons.

The deceased, simply identified as Miracle, was said to have been abducted at about 5 pm on Wednesday, 13 January only to be found dead on Saturday.

She was said to have disappeared shortly after leaving the house to run errands for her mother.

Residents said that her mother had sent her to buy some food stuffs for her within the busy Elele Roundabout, but she never returned.

After waiting endlessly, the worried mother raised the alarm and went round calling for help in case if anyone might have seen her.

A search party that was organized that night could not locate her. However, Miracle’s lifeless body was found early in the morning of Thursday, 14 January within the vicinity of her family house.

A family source said that they woke up from sleep that fateful day to find her lifeless body with blood all over her nose, mouth and private part.

Some Residents in the area are insinuating that she might have been used for ritual.
There were also suggestions that one of her close relations belongs to a cult group and has been in the custody of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad since last December last year.

There are insinuations that her death might not be unconnected with a revenge by a rival cult group.

The Rivers Police Command is yet to react to the gruesome murder of the innocent minor.
