Oduwa snubs Tottenham's new deal for U-23 Eagles
New Nigeria recruit, Nathan Oduwa,  has snubbed the opportunity to sign a new contract at Tottenham in other to play for the U-23 Eagles at the Olympics.

The 20-year-old winger, who has played for England at U-17, U-18 and U-20 level, decided to play for Nigeria last year and is expected to be part U-23 Eagles’ squad at Rio 2016.

According to Skysports, Oduwa has been urged by his agent to sign the new three-year contract, which was offered by Spurs last September, but the player and his family believe he could be playing and earning more elsewhere and hope a new club will attempt to sign him after the Games.

Spurs triggered the option to extend his current deal until 2017 earlier this year, after the youngster impressed on loan at Rangers, but he is stalling over new terms amid interest from clubs in Spain.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is believed to be an admirer of Oduwa’s ability but recently vowed to improve the squad’s mentality for next season and Oduwa is behind other youngsters such as Josh Onomah and Alex Pritchard for a first-team place at White Hart Lane.
