Ohanaeze youths beg Avengers over threat to bomb Abia

The Abia State chapter of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council, OYC, has called on Niger Delta Avengers, NDA, to drop their threat to bomb Abia State.

The Ohanaeze youths also said contrary to allegations by the Avengers, Abia State does not have IPOB/MASSOB members who are detained in the state.

The group also appealed to the militant group to embrace dialogue and allow peace to reign for the good of the people of Niger Delta.

The OYC stated this in a statement signed by Israel Ogbonnaya and Chetachi Ikpe, Abia state chairman and the State secretary of the council, respectively.

The group said: “We also call on the Niger Delta Avengers to sheathe their sword and drop threat to bomb and attack Abia state and other Niger Delta states.

“There is no IPOB/MASSOB detainee in Abia state. Finally, we recommend dialogue as the only means to address all contentious issues at stake”.
