Oscar scores in first game with Shanghai SIPG

Former Chelsea ace Oscar scored on his debut for his new club Shanghai SIPG on Sunday night following his £60million transfer to the Chinese side.

The Brazil international scored the opening goal, and went on to have a hand in the second goal, in a friendly match in Doha with Saudi Arabian Premier League side Al Batin.

The new side of the 25-year-old won 2-0, and congratulated his new teammates for their superb effort.

“I only trained for two days and this is my first game. This is the start of a new season and we had only one goal, which was to win the game,” Oscar said after the match.

“My team-mates played very well today. The Chinese guys tried to help us integrate. It’s difficult to have a good game in such a short time but they made it happen,” he added.

Oscar is one of the English Premier League players who switched to the Chinese Super League side this January.

His former Chelsea team-mate and Nigeria’s captain John Mikel Obi has also confirmed his transfer to Tianjin TEDA last week after concluding a £140,000-week deal with the Chinese side.
