Panic, tension as Electricity employee is electrocuted during repair work

There was pandemonium in the Isawo area of Ikorodu, Lagos State when an official of the Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company, IKEDC, was electrocuted while trying to fix power problems in the area.

Reports say the victim was confirmed dead on the spot at the scene of the incident at Olainukan Bus Stop after he tried to re-position some electric poles in the area which were disconnected due to ongoing road construction.

The victim had arrived the scene of the incident for work and was working on the pole for some minutes when it was reported that one of his colleagues at the power station mistakenly reconnected power supply in the area which lead to the death of the IKEDC employee.

The incident according to reports caused panic in the area as colleagues of the victim rallied round to rescue the victim, but there was nothing they could do to save his life.

Effort to reach the Electricity Company’s PRO, Ayeni Akinola, also proved abortive.
