CATTLE COLONY: Gov Bello can’t allocate land he doesn’t own to foreigners —Community leader

Kogi State Peoples Democratic Party and the Kogi State Government have engaged in war of words over Governor Yahaya Bello’s alleged reckless spending of the state’s meager resources and constant lies amid the dire economic situation in the state.

The PDP, in a statement by its publicity secretary, Bode Ogunmola, had accused Governor Bello of never taking into cognizance the laid down rules and procedures in doing government business.

“Our great party, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kogi State, has watched with dismay the ongoing emasculation of the socio-economic development of the state under the Yahaya Bello.

“Apart from outright disregard for laid down rules and procedures in carrying out government business, Governor Bello has been feeding the public with lies through his propaganda machinery. Nothing on ground in Kogi State points to economic growth.

“In fact, the spending of the state funds on frivolities with reckless abandon is seriously disheartening.”

The party further bemoaned the amount of money spent on a political rally held in Okene recently, where APC claimed over 10,000 PDP members decamped to it.

PDP urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and other relevant agencies to call on the governor and his ‘factional’ APC members to order.
It added, “We call on our supporters in the state to be wary of the Greek gifts.”

Responding, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mrs. Petra Onyegbule, accused the PDP of making empty allegations. She said the APC in the state “do not expect the PDP to be comfortable with the political tsunami that has annihilated their party.”

She further stated that, “PDP needs to ask itself why its members are defecting to APC in the state under the leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello. We are disappointed that PDP is not graduating from why it lost the last elections in the state.

“How much can we give 85,000 people other than good governance? Those who turned out believe in the governor and his New Direction Agenda for the state. They have seen new roads, hospitals, schools and are being empowered to drive the economy.”

One wonders if Fayose is a governor, or has become a social commentator. His morbid facination with the president is also worrisome. It is either the Ekiti boss is indulging in suspect substances or suffering from some psycho related ailment.
