PDP leaders haul abuses as Fayose's aide says party can do without Kashamu

The crisis presently rocking the South West chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) seems to be getting messier as Lere Olayinka, aide to Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, has described Senator Buruji Kashamu and his loyalists as “termite infested woods”.

Kashamu was on Monday described by Fayose as a “blackleg” who worked against the interest of the PDP along with Ali Modu Sheriff, the sacked national chairman of the party. Fayose then called for his sack from the party.

In another meeting in Lagos on Tuesday with Kashamu and some members of the party, the senator had claimed that it was Fayose who had been declared “persona non grata” in the party. He added that Fayose talks too much because he is suffering from “mouth diarrhea.”

At the meeting in Lagos, the group called on PDP National Caretaker Committee, led by Sen Ahmed Makarfi, to desist from relating with Governor Fayose as it regards the South West zone.

But responding to Kashamu’s out lash, Special Assistant to the Fayose on Public Communications and New Media, Olayinka, dismissed his comments.

He said, “The PDP house will not be rebuilt with termites infested woods. Governor Ayodele Fayose will not waste his time on people whose faces are abhorred in the gathering of people of good conscience.”

“Governor Fayose is more concerned with rebuilding the PDP and it is sure that the PDP house will not be reconstructed with termites infested woods.”

Olayinka went further to describe Kashamu the members he “gathered in his hotel in Lagos today, as pseudo PDP members.”

He said, “Methinks Senator Kashamu and his men should rather face their Mega Party of Nigeria (MPN). As at today, Senator Buruji’s Omo Ilu Foundation’s office in Ado Ekiti is now the State Secretariat of MPN and all his men have openly declared for the party. Or is MPN no longer Mega again?”
