Queen Elizabeth cancels birthday gun salute due to coronavirus

The Queen of England would mark her 94th birthday on Tuesday, April 21 without the royal artillery gun salute due to the coronavirus outbreak, a Buckingham Palace official announced.

She is said to have also cut short her official duties because of the Covid-19 pandemic and is at Windsor Castle with the Duke of Edinburgh.

This is coming a couple of weeks after the Queen’s televised address on April 5 where she had advised people to observe the coronavirus lockdown saying “by keeping apart we keep others safe”.
