The Bayelsa State government said Friday four relatives of the state’s index COVID-19 case had tested positive for the disease.

The Permanent Secretary in the State Ministry of Health, Dr. Inodu Nathaniel, who disclosed this at a press briefing in Yenagoa, said the quartet were among the 204 cases announced by the Nigeria Centre For Disease Control (NCDC) Thursday night.

Nathaniel said the four patients were among seven samples sent to the Irrua Reference Laboratory for COVID-19 test.

According to him, the cases have been taken to the Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital (NDUTH) isolation centre where they will be managed and closely monitored.
