Reps want post-humous promotion for late Comd Ali, others

THE House of Representatives on Tuesday, called on military authorities to award post humours promotions to the late Lt. Colonel Muhammad Abu-Ali, and other fallen heroes.

The House stated that Ali and the other six soldiers deserved the award for their heroic feats in combating the Boko Haram insurgents in the North East.

The House specifically recommended that the slain Lt. Col. Abu-Ali who had been on the forefront of prosecuting the war against Boko Haram should be bestowed with posthumous rank of One-Star General (Brigadier General.

Other six soldiers killed alongside Abu-Ali who was the Commanding Officer of 272 Task ForceTank Battalion were Sgt. Mu’azu Ibrahim, Sgt. Husain Jafaru, Sgt. Bassey Okon, Cpl. Chukwu Simon, Able Seaman Patrick Paul and Pvt. Salisu Lawal.
