Sanwo-Olu commits N250m seed fund to Lagos State Science and Tech Council

A sum of N250 million has been commissioned by the Lagos State Government to fund the state’s tech industry.

The financial commitment was made on Tuesday, by the governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, during the Art of Technology event held in Lagos to discuss the prospect of tech in building a nation and solving socio-economic problem.

According to the governor, the fund was to facilitate the realisation of dreams of entrepreneurs and innovators in the state.

Sanwo-Olu, in his opening remark, described the Art of Technology event as Lagos’ springboard to becoming a smart city, assuring guests that the future of Lagos State would be unravelled through the initiative.

He said, “It is with pleasure that I welcome you to the Art of Technology 1.0. This is the platform on which the future of Lagos State as a smart city will be unravelled.”

The event was attended by tech industry players, policymakers, government officials, venture capitalists, product designers, tech enthusiasts and entrepreneurs.
