Oshiomhole has plunged APC into a ‘civil war’— Saraki

The National Assembly on Friday released details of its budget for the 2018 fiscal year as earlier promised by Senate President Bukola Saraki.

The office of the Senate President made the details public in a tweet, explaining that it did so to show the commitment of the leadership of the 8th Assembly to accountability and transparency.

Saraki had earlier, apparently due to pressure from human rights activists and civil society groups, assured that details of the budget would be made public.

The details released on Friday showed that N139 billion was earmarked for the legislature. Of that amount, N35 billion was the total for the Senate, while the House of Representatives got N57 billion.

N10 billion was earmarked for legislative aides, while the National Assembly office and commission got N15 billion and N2 billion respectively.

For general service, N12.3 billion was earmarked.
