Saraki worth over N4bn before becoming gov – EFCC witness

The star prosecution witness of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Michael Wetkass, on Tuesday, confirmed that Senate President, Bukola Saraki, was worth over N4 billion before he became the governor of Kwara State in 2003.

Wetkass stated this at the continuation of the trial of the Senate President at the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT.

The EFCC witness said according to Exhibit 1, the defendant was worth about 22 million dollars, 12 million pounds, 2.6 million Euros, and about 4 billion naira before he became governor.

Continuing, the witness confirmed that in the Ecobank account of the Saraki’s wife, there was N1.5million and when added with the defendant’s shares in foreign companies, it amounts to N3, 645,550

He also confirmed that there was another N1, 100,000 in Société General Bank in the name of Tosin Saraki and Seni Saraki.

For movable properties’ asset – the witness confirmed that there are 15 vehicles, including Mercedes S320 valued at N16m, S500 at N20m, G500 at N6m, V220 at N2m, ML240 at N8.5m, CLK320 at N9m, E320 at N11m, G500 bullet proof at N45m, S500 at N30m, Lexus Jeep bullet proof at N30m, Ferrari 456GT at N25m, Navigator at N15m, Peugeot 406 at N2.9m, Lincoln Navigator bullet proof at N25m, all totalling N263.4million
