Security lapse at National Assembly as burglary increases

Published

on

There are indications that there is serious security lapse at the nation’s apex legislative institution, the National Assembly, leading to a worrisome increase of cases of burglary in the offices of federal lawmakers.

Investigations carried out by Saturday Telegraph show that this ugly development resulted in the unprecedented burglary that took place on Wednesday in the offices of Senator Oluremi Tinubu (Lagos Central) and Hon Muhammed Gausu Boyi representing the Ringim / Taura Federal Constituency in Jigawa State.

The two legislative offices were burgled, with valuable items amounting to significant sums of money carted away without the security personnel on duty able to trace those that perpetrated the crime.
