Senegal to ban full-face veil in public

In an attempt to curb jihadi activity, Senegal’s interior minister has revealed plans in the pipe-line to ban women from wearing full-face veils in public.
The move according to Abdoulaye Daouda should not be seen as anti-Islamic as Senegal is mainly a Muslim State.
Senegal will be the fifth African state to restrict the wearing of the full-face veil if the plan becomes law.

It could be recalled that last week, Senegal’s President Macky Sall, a Muslim, called for a cautious and courageous fight against militant Islamists in the country.
