Sheriff: I received the Supreme Court verdict with shock

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national chairman, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, has questioned the sources of wealth of the party’s former ministers.

Sheriff, who described the ex-ministers as having a lot of money and want to buy over the party, challenged them to disclose their sources of wealth.

The comment by Sheriff is coming on the heels of his rejection as the party’s leader by the former ministers who had during their meeting on Monday, declared their support for the Senator Ahmed Makarfi-led National Caretaker Committee of the PDP.

But addressing newsmen in Abuja on Tuesday, the Appeal Court sanctioned national chairman of the party speaking through his deputy, Dr Cairo Ojougboh, described Makarfi-led Caretaker Committee as illegal.

According to him, the PDP constitution does not recognise Makarfi and his group.

He said, “This group of persons (ministers) have a lot of money, money from sources that cannot be explained and their opinion is that they can buy the party. But Sheriff has said no, that the party is not for sale and so they know who to support and they know the people they can buy.

“The party is for the masses and the governors have said that whatever comes out of the Supreme Court, that is how the party would be.”

The erstwhile ministers he said, were only out to perpetrate impunity in the party.

Sheriff lacks the credibility to question the ex pdp ministers their source of wealth because both them and he got their wealth from same source which via corruption.

Nonsense. Sheriff should better know that there is no pdp again since the day he walked out on Jonathan.

This is pure madness! Sheriff is frustrated and very angry, yet he doesn’t know how to relate his anger. Makarfi is the authentic chairman and that’s how’s it’s going to be.

If sheriff thinks their source of money is illegal, let him file proper complaints to the EFCC so the anti graft agency can dig deeper into their wardrops to know if they’ve in one way or another stolen public funds. Speaking to the press about this is waste of time and sign of cowards.

What’s do you expect before? Don’t you know that Nigerians are cowards? Only biafrans have the courage to stand for what they believe in and fight for it, we don’t just rush to the press and start talking trash, we act before the press and that’s how it should be.
