The Super Falcons of Nigeria will be going to the 2018 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) in high spirit after thrashing Ivory Coast’s Eleven Sisters de Gagnoa 4-0 in a final warm up game on Monday.

The Nigerian ladies had lost two previous friendlies before now, but showed their preparedness for the tournament with the big win over reigning Ivorian women’s champions.

Three first-half goals by Asisat Oshoala, Desire Oparanozie and Francesca Ordega set the Thomas Dennerby girls unto a cruising victory in Abidjan.

They will afterward play Zambia and Equatorial Guinea in their other Group B games.

The tournament also serves as qualifiers for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France, as the best three teams – winners, first and second runners-up – will represent Africa at the mundial.
