Thailand: 4 killed in multiple bomb attacks

Published

on

At least four people lost their lives and many more were wounded across the country after multiple bomb attacks hit Thailand some days after adoption of contentious military-backed constitution.
Reports say security in the country has been tightened following the attack as authorities are trying to decipher the motive and the perpetrators behind the multiple bomb spells.
Police say there is no evidence of a connection between the attacks which occurred in the upscale resort of Hua Hin and the popular tourist town of Phuket.
“The police spokesperson is saying there is currently no evidence for any link between these bombs,” said Al Jazeera’s Pailin Wedel, reporting from Bangkok.
“Right now they are also sticking to the line that they still do not have enough evidence that there are any links to outside terrorism, southern insurgency or anything that may be linked to the current political situation.”
