Tompolo reveals those behind pipelines bombing

Former Niger Delta militants leader, Government Ekpumupolo, popularly called Tompolo, has said that ex-militants who joined the All Progressives Congress, APC, after the 2015 presidential election were reponsible for the bombing of oil and gas pipelines in Delta State.

He, also in the breath, hinted at a softened stance on his faceoff with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and his refusal to appear before a Lagos Federal High Court to answer to charges of fraud and money laundering prefered against, by saying he was ready to appear in court but at the approriate time.

It would be recalled that a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos had issued a bench warrant for his arrest on January 14 after he failed to appear before it.

The ex-Niger Delta warlord has charges brought against him before two different courts in Lagos for alleged diversion of N34 billion belonging to the Nigerian Maritime and Safety Agency, NIMASA to personal use and laundering of N22.6 billion.

Speaking on Thursday through his Media Adviser, Paul Bebenimibo, Tompolo said he was not comtemplating commencing war against the Federal Government since he accepted amnesty in 2009. He also denied having hand in the recent bombing crude oil and gas pipelines in Delta state.
