According to the statement, the girl who was sent on an errand to the palace was raped by the traditional ruler and the girl in turn reported the incident to her parents who swung into action.
Reports say her parents lodged report to the police who arrested and detained the traditional ruler after it was established that the victim was raped when she was sent to a hospital for medical examination.
The suspension of the traditional ruler will however be lifted, pending the determination of a criminal litigation against him.
