United States presidential aspirant, Donald Trump on Friday announced, Indiana’s governor, Mike Pence as his choice running mate for the elections.

He said via his tweeter handle: “I am pleased to announce that I have chosen Governor Mike Pence as my Vice Presidential running mate. News conference tomorrow at 11:00 A.M.,” the presumptive Republican nominee tweeted.

Pence also took to Twitter soon after the announcement, saying, “Honored to join @realDonaldTrump and work to make America great again.”

He literarily hit the ground running, as he lashed out at democratic presidential hopeful, Hillary Clinton, saying that she “must never become president of the United States.”

Trump had initially suggested he would wait until the Republican National Convention to unveil his vice presidential choice, but Indiana law forced his hand, since candidates can’t run for both federal and state office after July 15, meaning Pence had to withdraw his name from his re-election race for governor.

And Pence has made it clear that he won’t play a back seat role, or be quiet as he strongly criticized Clinton during a rally with Trump, to the admiration of the crowd.

Pence is seen as a safe political option for Trump, who also considered candidates who mirror his big personality such as New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.
