On noticing the robber’s predicament, angry resident bearing different objects were waiting for the robber to be freed from the burglary proof in order for them to administer jungle justice, but he was saved by a team of policemen who later arrived the scene.
“It is an established fact that this young man tried to burgle a shop, but his head was hooked in the burglary proof where he remained there all through the night till morning when the shop owner discovered him there,” state police spokesman, DSP Emmanuel Abuh said.

According to the owner of the laundry, David Dum, the incident happened Wednesday morning when the suspect, who gave his name only as Solomon, was found hooked between the chambers of the burglary proof.
“My staff resumed work by about 7:30am, to find this man trapped in the burglary proof. They raised alarm that attracted concerned persons to try and free him. I came myself to help, but we were unsuccessful to free him. We had to go round the town to look for a welder, who came with his instrument and sawed him out”.
Continuing, Dum said that the suspected robber was trapped by the burglary proof some metres away from some clothes he was suspected to have attempted to steal.
“He entered through the ceiling, and found the way into the first section of the shop. He tried to enter the main shop through the burglary proof when his head got hooked up there”.
Confirming the case, the state police spokesman said a team of policemen rescued the suspected robber from an angry mob and he is now in police custody for further investigation and prosecution.
