The National leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu turns 68-years-old today, March 29, with the President of the Nigerian Senate, Ahmad Lawan emerging as one of the first to wish the politician a happy birthday.

However, we gather that the birthday of the former Lagos State governor would most unusually be celebrated in a manner devoid of fanfare and colourful fêtes due to the partial COVID-19 lockdown being observed at the moment.

Further scoop reveals that there won’t be a colloquium of any sort as usual with feelers revealing that the politician would rather mark his 68th birthday with family members and his close circle instead.

The tallest model in Sub-saharan Africa, Bakare Mubarak has joined in the campaign to stop the spread of the deadly COVID-19 disease which has claimed many lives across the globe.

Celebrity Gist can confirm that Mubarak stormed to the streets of Lagos to enlighten the public on what to do to curb the spread of the virus according to guidelines prescribed by the World Health Organisation (WHO).

During the enlightenment walk, Mubarak also encouraged citizens to abide by safety precautions by means of social distancing, wearing of face masks, covering of mouth and nose while coughing and sneezing as well making sure to see a doctor if feeling any symptoms of the virus.

Candidates itching to have a feel of the new PEFTI Film Institute located in Ibadan, Oyo State, may have to wait a while longer after the management of the institution announced the suspension of the resumption of undergraduates at its new campus.

The suspension follows an order put in place by the Oyo State government to curtail the spread of the deadly coronavirus disease.

However, Abiola Adenuga, Managing Director of PEFTI, informed that all liaisons for the time being will be online.

‘Mad Over You’ crooner, Douglas Jack Agu, popularly known as Runtown has joined other well-meaning Nigerians to bring succour to scores of citizens who may be left stranded and wanting following the ongoing lockdown precipitated by the outbreak of COVID-19.

Celebrity Gist can confirm that the singer set aside the sum of N 10 million to aid those who lack essentials at a time when the government is shutting down communities and encouraging people to stock up their homes in a bid to contain the spread of the disease.

“Times are extremely tough and I am certain there are people with no money to stock up on survival essentials. Will be giving out 10 million Naira to the cause, kindly drop your account details,” the singer wrote on social media while donating the said sum of cash.

The singer, who noted in the post that the money would not go round, also urged those who can self-sustain themselves during this period to respectfully stay out of the giveaway as it was meant for those who could not afford to feed themselves during this period of caution.

The newly appointed chief executive officer of NBC Universal, Jeff Shell has joined the long list of Nollywood personalities who have contracted the deadly COVID-19 virus.

Jeff confirmed his status in a memo issued to staff on Wednesday stating that he was diagnosed with the virus which has quickly spread across the globe and has claimed many lives after feeling sick.

“I have recently been feeling under the weather and just learned that I have tested positive for Covid-19,” Shell wrote.

“Although the virus has been tough to cope with, I have managed to work remotely in LA and am improving every day,” Jeff’s memo read in part.
