WHO says 102 potential COVID-19 vaccines being developed worldwide

The World Health Organization (WHO) on Thursday announced that 102 potential COVID-19 vaccines were being developed around the world.

Scientists worldwide had been working round the clock to find a cure to the COVID-19 pandemic that has killed hundreds of thousands worldwide and forced the economy of many countries to shutdown.

But WHO, in a document on its website on Thursday, said that of the potential vaccines being developed as a cure for the virus, that eight of them had been approved for clinical trial.

Of the eight vaccines approved for clinical trials on humans, WHO said four are from China, one from England, one American and another a combined American and European group.

No African request has been approved.
