‘Ojuelegba’ crooner, Ayo Balogun popularly known as Wizkid in music circles has now become the first African artist to hit eight million monthly streams on music platform, Spotify.

The latest landmark feat by the artiste who started recording music at the age of 11, promises to have a positive financial rippling effect considering the numbers he is hitting on the online music streaming platform.

If Wizkid continues to get more listenership on Spotify, he will be paid royalties based on the number of streams he gets as a proportion of total songs streamed on the platform.

The more streams he gets on Spotify will also increase his popularity and music followership which brands will find very hard to ignore considering the numbers Wizkid is churning out.

There also promises to be a flood of juicy deals in the offing as brands will sooner than later battle one another to have Wizkid on their books as a brand ambassador.
