7 killed, 6 injured as suicide bombers launch attack in Borno

The Mandarari ward in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State was attacked after two female suicide bombers killed seven victims and injured six others to the dismay of locals.

Confirming the incident, Malam Murtala Ibrahim of Public Relations Unit of the Borno Police Command said the attack occurred at exactly 22.45 hours late Thursday night.

“Yesterday at about 22.45 hours, two suspected female suicide bombers detonated explosives strapped to their bodies at Mandarari ward in Konduga LGA, killing themselves and five others.

“Six persons sustained various degrees of injuries.

“The corpses and injured persons were evacuated to General Hospital Konduga, and normalcy restored to the area.”

Recall three days ago, that three suspected female suicide bombers who attempted to attack a military outpost near Muna garage in the outskirt of Maiduguri were killed by eagle-eyed security operatives.
