AFN relishes Anugweje’s release

The Athletic Federation of Nigeria have expressed their profound gratitude to the minister of Youths and Sports, Solomon Dalung, and other citizens of the country for their concern and support when a member of the board, Prof. Ken Anugweje, was kidnapped.
The AFN’s anti-doping head who was kidnapped in Port Harcourt last Wednesday was released in the early hours of Friday.

According to a statement signed by the federation’s Head of Communication and Media, Olukayode Thomas, the minister in his capacity tried his utmost best for the release of the professor of science.
AFN also thanked Nigerians for their prayers and concern during Anugweje’s travails in the hands of his kidnappers.
The AFN however appealed to the country’s youths to stay away from crime while also calling on corporate organisations in the country to invest in the development of the youths.
The statement further disclosed that Prof. Anugweje is gradually getting over the incident and would hopefully return to work soon.
