AMAA 2016: Nigerians win in 10 categories out of 24
The Nigerian movie industry better known as Nollywood reaffirmed its pride of place on the movie landscape of Africa as Nigerians won in 10 categories out of 24 awards handed out this year’s edition.
Coming close behind Nigeria is South Africa which scooped five awards, Burkina Faso described as fast evolving came third with four awards, while Ghana came fourth as it notched three awards on the night.
Anchored by Mike Ezuruonye, Chris Attoh, and Kgopedia Lioane, the awards ceremony staged at Dr Obi Wali International Conference Centre, Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital witnessed the attendance of movie stars like Juliet Ibrahim, Richard Mofe Damijo, Omoni Oboli, Joke Silva, Olu Jacobs, Enyinna Nwigwe, C.J Fiery Obasi, Governor Nyesom Wike, Senator David Mark, Lai Mohammed, Queen Okoye, and Eniola Badmus among others.
