Anyaoku: Herdsmen killings, major threat to Nigeria’s unity, stability

Former Commonwealth Secretary-General, Chief Emeka Anyaoku has called on the Federal Government to stop the killings of innocent Nigerians by suspected Fulani herdsmen.

He expressed displeasure over gruesome murder of people in their homes by the herdsmen, describing their activities as a major threat to the unity and stability of the country.

Anyaoku, who made this call in Lagos on Saturday in an exclusive interview with New Telegraph at the opening of ‘NOSTALGIA: Glimpses from Diaspora’, an exhibition of recent work in mixed media, acrylics and oils on canvas by Kunle Adegborioye, also called for the restructuring of the country into true federalism which would accommodate regions of not more than eight federating units.

Anyaoku said: “The herdsmen and their activities are a major threat to the unity and stability of this country”.
