Court halts APC's plan to hold indirect primary in Kogi

National chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, on Monday said he could “place hands on the Quran and swear that INEC and its officials informed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before postponing” the last Saturday presidential and National Assembly elections.

Oshiomhole spoke when the ruling party had its emergency national caucus meeting at its headquarters in Abuja.

The meeting was attended by President Muhammadu Buhari, his Vice, Yemi Osinbajo, a national leader of the party, Bola Tinubu and some APC governors.

Oshiomhole said, “I can put my hands on the Quran and swear that INEC and its officials informed the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, before postponing the election. The PDP were well acquainted with the plans to move to the elections.

“This is why they did not receive the news with shock. They made us look like fools, because we were busy preparing for the elections while they were relaxing.”

According to a tweet by President Buhari’s aide, Bashir Ahmaad, on his Twitter handle, the meeting was held “to discuss critical issues affecting the party, including the postponement of the general elections by one week.”
