Arewa Christians dub Buhari “nepotistic”, want UN, US, others, to aid his exit in 2019

Arewa Christians and Indigenous Pastors Association (ACIPA) has described President Muhammadu Buhari as a “nepotistic” leader.

They want the intervention of the United Nations (UN), the United States (US), and other international bodies to help ensure he does not lead Nigeria beyond 2019.

Other international bodies the association sought help from are the African Union, the European Union, the Commonwealth of Nations. The group said they should intervene and save Nigerians from President Buhari’s grip.

The Christian group also called on Nigerians to rescue the country from President Buhari’s “bad leadership”

ACIPA president, Luke Shehu, made this known to newsmen at a press conference in Jos, explaining that it became necessary they make the demand as it has become very glaring that Buhari is “nepotistic” and that “Nigerian ethnic nationalities and particularly the Northern Christians are under siege,” in the Buhari government of Nigeria.

The group further noted that Buhari’s government had failed in its primary constitutional responsibility of protecting lives and property, which he had sworn to carry out.

“While we may not conclude that insurgency in Nigeria is state-sponsored, there is clear and obvious complicity by government officials in some quarters.

“This administration should stop deceiving Nigerians that Boko Haram has been defeated. The truth is that after three years, Boko Haram has yet to be defeated despite the pre – election promise to do so in less than six months,” Shehu added.
