Attack on Maiduguri contained, no need for panic, Nigerian Army reassures

A fresh attack launched by members of terror group Boko Haram who attempted to capture Jiddari Polo community in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital, has been repelled by officers of the Nigerian Army who have informed that the situation has been brought under control.

According to the Director, Army Public Relations, Brig. Gen. Sani Usman, the situation has been brought under control and most of the terrorist who launched the attack have been killed after troops repelled their invasion.

Meanwhile, residents of Jiddari Polo have reportedly fled their homes to neighbouring communities following the attack by the terrorists whose number initially overwhelmed the villagers.

According to a resident of Jiddari Polo, bullets were flying everywhere during the attack.

“There were bullets flying everywhere, and all of us were in panic”.

Continuing, the resident stated that; “I cannot tell you the number of casualties now. But I can say the insurgents tried to gain entrance into Maiduguri and they were engaged by the military for about two hours.”

However, Brig. Gen. Usman said the situation has been brought under control as the insurgents have been chased away while also urging residents not to panic.

“They (insurgents) fled back when the military aircraft came hovering over the area. The situation was bad as you can still see bullets all over the streets.

“The general public is requested not to panic and stay calm,” he added.

But, Buhari’s government claimed it has won the fight against Boko Haram, how come ‘defeated Boko Haram’ launched fresh attack?

The government has been lying to us. How can Boko Haram be defeated and they will still launch new attack on Nigerians soil? Lets just keep playing along to their lies.

Nigeria Army is really trying in the fight against Boko Hara, they need to be compensated for fighting so hard and defending Nigeria against external attacks

You know nothing. Is that external or internal attack? And mind you, when they totally defeat Boko Haram, then we shall compensate them adequately.

Let’s pray for our military because these people are endangering their lives for us but we hardly appreciate them. So many soldiers have lost their lives in the battle against Boko Haram
