BAYELSA: We’ve now secured a stay of execution of order barring our guber candidate —APC Chieftain
The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Timipre Sylva, claimed Thursday that the Court of Appeal, Abuja, had granted a stay of execution on the judgement delivered by the Federal High Court, Yenagoa, nullifying the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries ahead of Saturday’s governorship election in Bayelsa.
The lower court had on Thursday quashed the primaries that produced Chief David Lyon as the APC candidate for the governorship poll.
With the appellate court ruling, the APC may now go ahead and feature Lyon as its flag bearer in Saturday’s election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is yet to reveal its position on the matter.
