Policemen chase student, force him to jump off bridge

The Plateau State Commissioner of Police, Undie Adie, has been sacked following the orders of the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris.
He was booted out over the killing of over 86 people in Barkin Ladi, Riyom and Jos South Local Government Areas under his watch.
Adie’s sacking which is with immediate effect comes 48-hours after the incident, which the Chairman of MACBAN (North Central Zone), Danladi Ciroma, described as retaliatory.

The sacking of the Plateau State Commissioner of Police was announced in a statement by the Spokesperson of Plateau State Police Command, Matthias Tyopev, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, who gave no reason for the action or explained the new posting for Adie.

He will now be replaced by Yobe state-born Bala Ciroma, who was until his new position the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department.

The statement by Tyopev revealed that Ciroma who was one-time the Head of Operations at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in Abuja, “has also served in virtually all the six geo-political zones of Nigeria and in all the departments of the NPF.”

Following the bloody attacks, the Nigerian Defense Ministry has also deployed its personnel in response to an attack on Gashish district of Barkin Ladi local government area of the state.

Reports say Ibrahim Idris, inspector-general of police (IGP), has also deployed special teams comprising of intelligence response team (IRT), the special tactical squad (STS), five armoured personnel carriers (APCs), and three police mobile force units (PMF) to Plateau state.
