117 new COVID-19 cases in Nigeria; total now 782

The number of people infected by COVID-19 in Nigeria increased to 782 on Tuesday night after the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed 117 new cases in seven states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The NCDC said on its Twitter handle that 59 new cases were recorded in Lagos, 29 in FCT, 14 in Kano, six in Borno, four in Katsina, three in Ogun, and one each in Rivers and Bauchi.

According to the centre, 197 patients have been discharged from hospitals and isolation centres across the country and 25 others killed by the virus.

It said: “117 new cases of #COVID19 have been reported: 59 in Lagos, 29 in FCT, 14 in Kano, 6 in Borno, 4 in Katsina, 3 in Ogun, 1 in Rivers, and 1 in Bauchi.

“As of 11:25 p.m. on the 21st April, there are 782 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. Discharged:197. Deaths: 25.”
