Nigeria records 91 new cases of COVID-19 as total hits 1273

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Sunday night confirmed 91 new cases of COVID-19 in 15 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

In an update on the country’s coronavirus situation published on its Twitter handle, the centre gave the breakdown of the figure as follows: Lagos (43), Sokoto (8), Taraba (6), Kaduna (5), Gombe (5), Ondo (3), FCT (3), Edo (3) and Oyo (3).

Others are – Rivers (3), Bauchi (3), Osun (2), Akwa Ibom (1), Bayelsa (1), Ebonyi (1) and Kebbi (1).

According to the NCDC, the latest figure has increased the country’s number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 1,273.

Out of this figure, 239 persons have been discharged from hospitals after they were given a clean bill of health by medical experts and 40 others killed by the virus.

It said: “As at 11:50 p.m. 26th April- 1273 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria.

Discharged: 239 AND Deaths: 40

“One case previously reported in Lagos, is now an Ondo State case

“The total number of confirmed cases in Lagos is 731, and eight in Ondo.”
