CAN, PFN probe rape allegations against COZA Pastor

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has began findings into allegations of rape against Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, founder of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA).

The leadership of CAN, through his Special Assistant, Media and Communications, Pastor Adebayo Oladeji, said in a statement on Saturday, that it had reached out to the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) over the matter.

CAN’s statement condemned the act of rape in strong terms and promised to get to the root of the matter, even as it noted that there is no reliable and credible evidence enough to jump into a conclusion on the issue yet.

The statement by CAN reads thus in part; “The Christian Association of Nigeria as a body, condemns any case of rape in strong terms, it doesn’t matter who is involved.

“It is ungodly, wicked, and reprehensible. However, on the allegations against Pastor Abiodun Fatoyinbo, we have no details about the matter other than what we are reading on the social media, this is not reliable and credible evidence enough to jump into a conclusion.

Busola Dakolo, a photographer and wife of R&B singer, Timi Dakolo, had accused Fatoyinbo of raping her when she was 16 while her parents were away from home on a trip.
