EKITI ELECTION TRIBUNAL: INEC staff deliberately voided PDP vote –Witness

Justice Mohammed Idris of the Federal High Court, Lagos, has sentenced a former INEC Administrative Secretary in Kwara State, Christian Nwosu and Tijani Bashir to 7 years in jail each for offences bordering on money laundering to the tune of N264.8 million.

The judge had found the two men guilty of the offences on Thursday.

Mr Nwosu was on Thursday convicted for receiving N30 million bribe out of the $115.01 million allegedly shared by a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke, for the 2015 elections.

Justice Idris gave the judgement on Friday after his Thursday judgment convicting the two INEC staff.

The duo were arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for benefiting from $115.01 million allegedly doled out by Alison-Madueke.
