Operatives of the Nigeria Customs Intelligence Unit (NCIU) have uncovered a concealed box containing 70 rounds of live ammunition in a 20 foot container at the Ports and Multi-Terminal Limited (PTML), Tincan Island, Apapa, Lagos.

Sources at the command disclosed to New Telegraph that the container was detained late last year before the New Year holiday on December 28, 2017 after it was suspected to be carrying unlawful imports.

According to the source, the container numbered GCNU4720300/1 was prevented from being cleared out of the port to give room for due diligence of 100 per cent physical examination and to ascertain the number of live cartridges it contained.
