The immediate past Minister of Youths and Sports, Barr. Solomon Dalung has revealed his plans for the ministry should he be given a second chance.

Speaking in an interview with Punch, the 54-year ex-Minister said he will focus on grassroots development of sports in Nigeria and also see that sporting complexes are designed to be multipurpose.

“If He (God) chooses again to give me power, I think I will focus more on consolidating on very viable grass root development architecture and I will redirect most of government’s spending to that.

“I will also de-emphasise the construction of some of these giant sporting infrastructures that we have. I will align myself with the world by adapting to convertible methods.

“You can build up a sporting arena, play and still use the venue for another thing. I saw that when we went for the Commonwealth Games.”
