The US president, Donald Trump has responded to contradictory reports alleging that the North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un, had either died from complications after a botched heart surgery or was in a “grave” state of health.

He spoke at a press conference in the White House on Monday.

Trump, addressing the rumours suggested that Kim was alive adding: “I can’t tell you exactly. Yes, I do have a very good idea, but I can’t talk about it. I just wish him well. I’ve had a very good relationship with Kim Jong-un”.

He used the medium to defend his Foreign policy with North Korea, saying:

“If I weren’t president, you would have been in war with Korea.

“You would have been in war with North Korea if I wasn’t president. That I can tell you. He [Kim] expected that. That I can tell you. I hope he’s fine. I do know how he’s doing relatively speaking. We will see you’ll probably be hearing in the not too distant future”, Trump added.

On Kim’s whereabouts Trump said,

“Nobody knows where he is” adding that claims that the North Korean dictator had sent a message to the country’s workers last Saturday were untrue.

Like Trump, although North Korea has failed to drop comments on the health condition of their leader they have insisted that Kim is still alive.
