DSS defy court, stops Dasuki’s foreign trip

More troubles seem to be brewing for the embattled former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, who was Wednesday night and Thursday morning prevented from traveling abroad for a Federal High Court sanctioned medical trip to the United Kingdom.

Recall that Ripples Nigeria had reported yesterday that the security operatives, despite the breather granted Dasuki to travel abroad for medical care by the court, were not keen on letting him leave the country, over what they described as ‘security matters’.

It was gathered that, Dasuki, who was supposed to travel on Wednesday night, was stopped by security operatives at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

The former NSA however returned to the airport on Thursday morning to make his trip but was equally stopped by the same security agents, who gave no reason for their action.

Dasuki, frustrated by the development, returned to his Asokoro residence and is said to be considering approaching the Federal High Court to seek redress against the agents.

A security source however denied reports that Dasuki had again been placed under house arrest by the DSS.

The source said: “The security agents only prevented Dasuki from travelling on Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

He has returned to his house and is not under house arrest.”
